Methodological Model of Development of Students' Socio-Cultural Skills in the Process of Teaching Listening in English by Means of a Virtual Museum

Abstract

The article presents a methodological model for the development of students' sociocultural skills in the process of teaching listening in English by means of a virtual museum. The research is innovative due to its theoretical orientation and description of a specific methodologi-
cal model. The research methods employed included analysis, comparison, description, generalisation, and theoretical modelling. The model consists of the following components: target, theoretical, technological, evaluation and result blocks. The model is founded on a combination
of personal-activity, competence, intercultural, and socio-cultural approaches, and the teaching principles, methods, pedagogical conditions, developed sociocultural skills, and criteria foheir evaluation are formulated and described. The stages of the process of developing students'
sociocultural skills are reflected.
